Pros: Nice finish, great button layout and easy to use
Cons: Bad picture quality
The Bottom Line: Stay away from the S700 like the plauge. When you shop for a camera look at the picture quality on a computer screen, not just the lcd on the camera

Full Review
I bought this product because I wanted to finally upgrade from my 2.0 mp fuji fine pix. I picked up the S700 at CC and I liked it initially because of the large lcd screen. I like that the layout seems user friendly coming from a tech geek like myself, others may find it counter intuitive. I like the fit and finish. I have other samsung products that I love, so im not biased to another brand.
To me it looks and feels like a quality unit. Where it picks up in one area it lacks severly in another. This camera is 7.2 mp. I expected amazing picture quality, since my fuji took great photos for only being 2.0mp.
The lackluster photo quality had me in shock. My brother has several high end SLR cameras so he was showing me the in's and outs of the manual features on the S700. We took many, many photos. Some of the same objects but in different modes. There are more user settings in manual mode than the laymen could possibly know what to do with. With that said, each of the pictures from different modes are vastly differing in quality, color and clarity. The suprise came when looking at the pictures. The resolution was horrible. Remember I came from a camera that only had 2.0mp. I decided to go take some of the same photos with the fine pix fuji in manual and auto mode. To my suprize these pictures were much cleaner and color accurate. The pictures from the S700 are very, very noisy. Thats grainy to the laymen. You get a very large image but no quality to go with it.
