Full Review
I got this model MP3 player as a Christmas present, so I decided to review it.
I have always wanted an MP3 player to organize my CD collection, but I finally got one this year. I have an enormous CD collection (over 400 CD's), and a lot of pictures, videos, and whatnot stored on my hard drive. This device helps me to organize everything, and it works better than I expected.
The Features:
1. The player comes with an FM tuner, not unlike one on a Walkman. However, the sound quality is much smoother, without the dead air found in a regular radio. I rarely use this feature, as I already have a Walkman, but it is good to know it's there.
2. Photos- This player is capable of storing digital photos found on a hard drive or websites such as Photobucket. I have a Photobucket account with hundreds of pictures, and I was able to store them in the device.
3. Video- the device is also capable of storing videos. Unfortunately, I do not have any videos stored on my hard drive, so I'm not sure how this feature works. It probably works the same way as storing and viewing photos and music (see below)
4. Voice Recorder- it also has a voice recorder, located at the top, near the hold switch, which turns on the device for the first time. All one has to do is hit Record on the left side of the device and say something into the tiny hole. The sound quality is very good, without the tape hiss found in a cassette recorder.
5. Expandable memory SD slot- the device also has a slot in which to store a memory disc to add memory to the player. Since I have a lot of stuff stored in mine, this comes as a welcome feature. Just insert the chip into the slot on the right side, wait for it to load, and insert the clip of the USB cable, then load into the player.
6. The battery- the battery in the player is rechargable, which is much better than using alkaline batteries. An icon in the lower left corner of the screen shows exactly how much power there is in the battery, which takes out all the guesswork. It lasts for up to twenty hours of continuous use, but I charge mine every three to four days, depending on how much power is left. It is easy to recharge; just connect to the USB cable on your computer. When the battery icon stops flashing, the charge is done.
This player is great if you have a large CD collection or a lot of pictures and videos. It is small, easy to use, and virtually idiot-proof. It is a great gift for the music geek slash Luddite in your family.
