I was an owner of an Ipod, 4th Gen., and a thought it was great, until one day I was transferring data to the thing and the hard drive just died, and i cried, because once they break, they are useless. failed. It was just a year old, and i treated it like a fragile egg. Then i got the
Sandisk Sansa e250 2 Gig MP3 Player, and i was very happy. This unit blows away any Ipod video. It has a digital audio player that supports MP3, WMA, secure WMA,and wav audio files. Other file types can be used but they need to be converted to usable formats. Also has a video player that supports all video files converted and transferred to this device through the specific Sansa media converter software. It also sports a photo browser that supports photo files also converted to it device through the included media converter software. A nice bonus is the FM Radio, integrated radio for listening to FM radio stations.
It also has a Voice Recorder that supports a voice recording function with built-in microphone. I like things that have a nice EQ built in that you are able to select a mode to customize your music experience. If you run out of room you can use the microSD slot that supports read or write from an external micro SD cards.
This unit appears sturdy enough to drop, but i would not try it. It will do better than the ipod and not force me to itune my wallet away.
