Pros: Packed with features
Excellent keyboard
Excellent Character recognition
Cons: could be a little wider
battery life ain't bad, but...
The Bottom Line: I'm a member of gadg-a-holics anonymous. This is almost too practical to label a gadget. It's a great value. You won't be sorry.

Full Review
I changed over to Pocket PC operating system several years ago and try to make it work. But what a waste of time. After a recent losing battle with the HP iPaq 5455, I surrended and went back to the Palm OS, and this Sony Clie was the best move I could have made.
First of all it's size is great. Fits in your pocket, and screen folds over so that you won't accidently damage it. (Who hasn't done that or at least feared doing that?)
Next, the built in keyboard is incredible. The keys are amazingly the right size for big finger guys like myself. They designed the keyboard so that the rows of keys are slighly elevated, but at the same time recessed to avoid accidental keystrokes.
The screen swivels to fold ontop of itself. It's like having a minature Tablet PC. It is truly incredible. The one thing you have to get used to is the landscape orientation of the screen, but that's minor.
The unit records sounds, pictures and movies. All of which are quite simple to use. It is a breeze to get up and running in no time.
I was further impressed with the new grafitti alternative called Decuma. (Well it's new to me if it's been out there a while.) This is character recognition at another level. you can customize phrases that you commonly use to create your own shorthand.
Now this unit only has Bluetooth and not 80211.b. I'm not sure how much I'm missing by not having it. The Blue tooth transmissions were effortless.
Also, with the IR port, you can print photos to printers with IR readers. Okay, so this isn't a big deal, but I'm so high on this unit that it's all good.
Overall, I'd say that this is one heck of a value and a lot of fun to use. You won't be sorry.
