One of the only cameras I have ever used that I would recommend to an amateur as well as a professional. High quality digital pictures in a tiny package.

I purchased my Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-W80 Digital Camera on a whim due to a great sale at Best Buy where they were offering the camera for $179. I couldn't resist.

I didn't really need a new camera but the the sleek, small, modern design captured the amateur photographer in me. I have always loved photography but never really knew enough to make it much more than a hobby.

With this camera I feel like I don't need to be a "professional" photographer to take great pictures. There are so many options on this camera from the Auto Adjustment settings to the settings that allow you to shoot movies or high sensitivity pictures. I feel like I can do it all with this camera. It enables you to shoot portraits, landscapes, waterscenes, low light scenes, and white scenes all with the spin of an easy to use wheel. As you spin the instructional wheel to find the setting that you need, the camera gives you a quick explanation of what that setting does. This helps those of us who don't really know the camera lingo. Saves me time knowing that I will get a great photo because it was shot in the right setting.

The color is vibrant and strong and depending on my settings, I get bright sunny pictures outdoors and clear crisp pictures indoors.

I have just recently gotten into using the extra features like the red eye reducer and I must say it has drastically lowered the extra time I spend in photoshop removing red eye problems.

I also really enjoy the size of the camera, I am able to stick the camera in my pocket with no problems whatsoever. It's durable and sleek and not what a camera used to look like. I feel the look of it will never go out of style and will definitely make it easier for those of us who travel frequently as we are now not required to carry big bulky camera bags. I never miss an important event because this camera is small enough to fit in my purse to carry everyday.

As someone who knows nothing about camera's this camera sure has brought me a long way. I learn more and more about photography and color everyday.
