A good alternative to d-ej815

Author's Rating: 4/5 stars

Pros: Looks, Features, Remote

Cons: None

The Bottom Line:
The remote makes it deffinantly a buy. If you want to spend a little more money for a backlight, try a d-ej815.

Intro... I bought this at...

I bought this player online a while ago for about 130 dollars. I now think it is cheaper than that. I also found just by looking at it and also by using it, that it is very similar to the d-ej815. It is pretty compact and small although not as small as the smallest, the D-EJ915. I thought the player looked nice in its silver color. I bought the silver because the D-EJ815 I have is blue. It looked very pleasing with its metallic, simple, yet advanced looking design. The top is made out of a strong material and is pretty sturdy. The buttons are layed out symetrically on the sides of the display screen.

What I Liked... Many things.

The first thing I liked, which I already mentioned was the looks. The buttons were rather symetrical around the display and it had a simple durable casing. This player also comes with rechargable batteries. Although they are not the best they last pretty long. Than when their juice runs out you just keep them in the player and recharge them. This player also has many features. One of which I mentioned was the recharging capability. Another thing I loved was the remote that it comes with. This is good if you want to keep the player in a back pack or in a jean pocket ect. It is also very small. It was able to fit in my jean pocket, as long as your pants are baggy and you have big pockets on the legs, it will fit. Although it is small I don't recommend running with it in your pants pocket because it will just get banged up to much. It hits against your leg and who knows what that could mess up. You can hold it or put it in a tighter pocket so it cannot jiggle around. The last big plus was the sound. Although this is the most importand feature of a music player, it is often over looked. This player has plenty of treble, especially when you need it and the bass booms with rap music and anything that has loud beats.

What I Didn't Like... Not too much.

One thing that I think could have been added to this player was a backlight in the LCD screen. A backlight is a blue/green/red/purple light that evenly lights up the screen so you can see the black words and numbers. Some of the newer players, the letters also change color when a backlight is engaged. Anyway, this player does not have a backlight so it is hard to use in the dark. That was the only really major con. It could have used some extra features such as a backlight or tuner. Some times its nice to hear a voice instead of just music as on a CD.

My Final Verdict of The D-EJ725.

In Conclusion the d-ej725 is a moderatly priced player with nice basic features and a few extras. The remote makes it deffinantly a buy. If you want to spend a little more money for a backlight, try a d-ej815. I also recommend buying used and refurbished CD players from YAHOO! Warehouse. They are just like new, no scratches or anything, and they are sometimes half the price. Well I hope you enjoyed my review.
