Pros: Incredible lens. Dual memory cards. Ease of use. Picture quality.
Cons: Heavy. No movie mode. No night shot. No laser-AF.
Bottom Line: If you're not into lens-swapping on SLRs, this is certainly a viable option. The sensor alone should sell you on it. Lens and sensor combine to give staggeringly good pictures.

Pros: Excellent image quality, large sensor, little noise, USB2.0, features, intuitive metering, Wide angle/fast Zeiss lens!
Cons: Zoom range, raw size, heavy, no IS, EVF not for low light, Pricey prosumer.
Bottom Line: Good investment if EVF is acceptable to user and image quality is most important. Not made for long telephoto shots of moving objects. High end prosumer. Lens a plus.

Pros: Awesome lens and wonderful pictures.
Cons: No laser focusing system from previous DSC-F series and no Remote wireless control.
Bottom Line: If you are looking for great image quality, lots of real resolution, and good low-noise level performance that also provides live preview, Sony Cybershot DSCR1 has set a new standard.

Pros: Great lens; quality build; very good manual controls; smooth operating and focusing zoom; nicely balanced.
Cons: Limited multiple frame shooting; no video function; slow focusing in dim light.
Bottom Line: Highly recommend this camera based on the quality of the images it takes. Not recommended for low light photography of moving subjects, or sports photography requiring continuous shooting.

Pros: Excellent lens with manual zooming and focus rings and dual memory card slots
Cons: More expensive than entry level dSLRs and top-mounted LCD screen is awkward and anti-intuitive
Bottom Line: The R1 is a hybrid P&S prosumer digicam that (in some significant ways) actually outperforms entry-level dSLRs.
