Full Review
As a physician, I have looked for something that can combine pager and phone functions and I have found it in the 6710. I have been using the 6710 for 2 weeks now and have been quite impresed. The reception in Chicago and the surrounding vicinity has been excellent (However, I was in LA last weekend and found the reception to be somewhat spotty). The signal in my hospitals is quite good although there are a few areas without signal. I usually am not in these areas for a prolonged period so it really is not an issue. In general, it probably is close but not as "receptive" as my pager, however, the cell phone is much better than my TDMA phone from AT&T. An added bonus is that one can take notes during a call and review them after disconnect. If you type in a phone number in a note, you can highlight it and the 6710 dials it automatically. Its weakness is in its organizer functions which are not as user friendly as comprable ones on a Palm device. The PDA is not much different than that on earlier models. It would be nice to have Palm OS PDA functions in this device but for me it is not necessary. I sync the calendar onto the device but really do not input information, although I could.
All and all, this model should serve all your communications needs if you reside in an area with service.
