If one is willing to shell out 170 dollars for an mp3/cd player, than the iriver slimx is definitely the best way to go, no doubt, best value out there.

This is by far the best mp3/cd player one could get and I don't think anyone looking for an mp3/cd player should second guess their decision to get an iriver slimx, except maybe if the price tag is a little high for them, I got mine for 170 which is a little steep, but still, by far the best value out there, this thing is simply amazing.

First I'll go over all the good features this tiny little device has.
1.It's very thin,compact, and lightweight and can fit almost anywhere, definitely appropriate for portable use if thats what one desires, in fact this thing would work well in almost any situation.
2.I might as well point out that the design is pretty cool, and this device has quite an attractive design that is pleasant to look at.
3.The navigation options and all the customizability this thing has is incredible. There are so many options you can fiddle with in order to provide the perfect listening condition for any situation.
4.There are many different modes available to appeal to everybody and to allow the user to listen to ones music the way they want to, for example randomly playing tracks from the disk, or a folder on the disk, or simply playing a group of tracks or a single track repeatedly.
5.This thing reads id3 tags and winamp playlists which definitely comes in handy.
6.One of the coolest things on this device is the remote with the LCD screen, the text is clear and very easy to read as the screen lights up whenever you press a button. The little screen displays almost everything on it including title, artist, song time, battery, file type, track number, kbps, etc.
7.Once you get used to the controls, they are designed pretty well, and easy to use.
8.Sound is definitely of high quality.
9.Rechargeable batteries are very useful to have and if you happen to run out nowhere near a electric socket, you can just use the included battery pack.
10.This thing includes an RM radio, where you can store stations on a memory, and the radio itself is very clear, and works extremely well.

I know it seems like this is the most perfect device from what i've written, but nothing comes without flaws, although definitely nothing major that should prevent anyone from buying it, i still feel i should mention them.
1.No LCD screen on player itself, even though I'm not against it because I simply put the player in a case, and fiddle with the remote only, some people may really want the LCD screen on the player, and therefore should be considered a minor flaw.
2.Doesn't come with car adaptar, no big deal, but still, had to buy one seperately
3.Price tag may be a little hefty for some people, but in my opinion still best value out there, and definitely worth every penny.
4.Carry case may seem a little cheap, and is nothing special, but I still think it gets the job done.

All in all, the iriver slimx is definitely the best mp3/cd player on the market right now, and if one doesn't mind paying the 170 dollar price tag for it, then there is no doubt, one should by this thing. I believe it is worth every penny, and definitely recommend the iriver slimx to anyone in the market for an mp3/cd player.
